Since more than 220 years GTV deals with locks and furnishings. In 1780 Mathias Tiefenthal started trading with hardware, tools, locks and furnishings in Aprath, near Wülfrath.

Soon there came along in-house production. In 1827 the sons took over the campany named GTV Tiefenthal. More and more it gained in importance. In 1870 the production of locks has been switched to Velbert.

A few years later there was built up a foundry for malleable cast iron. Around the turn of the century the lock factory and the foundry have been divided, the production of locks and keys expanded permanently and there were brought many new constructions on the market.

Since the take over of the barrel-lock company JOWIL in 1959 the line card has been completed by adding cylinder locks. A well balanced and comprehensive range of products carved out its permanent place in the market.

In the year 2002 Mr. Cafer Carpaz and Mr. Sadik Özgür took over the company who continue the business in best tradition. It is our intent to satisfy our customers to minimize delivery times, to place fuhrther pop products on the market and hence expend our national and international position.

To this day this enterprise is a business company that is able to offer products to its customers which are up to date and made of high quality.
